Differences Between Concrete Prefab, Steel Prefab and Wood Prefab

Prefabricated Building; It turned out that people who do not have enough budget could not buy a house and most of them rented instead of buying it. This situation led to the spread of prefabricated houses in different countries. Prefabricated houses are fast production, price advantages, detached, safety, etc. it brought a number of advantages.

Prefabricated houses are made of three different materials. These; concrete prefabricated, steel prefabricated and wooden prefabricated. Let's take a look at what the differences are between these 3 different prefabricated varieties.

Durability and Maintenance
Concrete is durable and does not require maintenance. It can also be used for more than 100 years. Concrete prefabricated houses built 50 years ago are still standing. For example, mega-prefabricated structures built for the Lebanese army in 1987 are still standing and used. On the other hand, steel prefabricated building types are more robust than concrete and offer you a number of advantages in terms of flexibility. Steel used in buildings such as Burj Khalifa, Eiffel Tower Empire State is more resistant to hurricanes and earthquakes. Besides their durability, they are flexible enough to allow you to change the size, width and shape of the building during construction. Wood is a material that requires more maintenance than concrete and steel, as it is sensitive to rotting and exposure to termite infestation due to moisture. It requires paint and maintenance annually and provides little protection against hurricanes, floods and even winds.

Comfort
The reinforced concrete is sound insulator in the prefabricated floor, as the flooring of the floor is stiff enough to eliminate sound or avoid transmitting noise, providing comfort away from outside sounds inside the house. In steel constructions, the desired insulation materials can be used in the construction of the walls. For this reason, the more you love silence, the more insulation you can get and the comfort you want, even the sound insulation on the walls is completely up to your taste.
Wood needs to be treated for sound insulation, and the cost and work must be processed into an already expensive structure. Wooden floors squeak and make a loud noise when walking, which unfortunately does not provide the silence you want.

Security
It is a known fact that it is difficult to enter a house made of concrete and steel instead of a house made of wood. All houses, whether wood or concrete, have a thick door made of steel and it is a known fact how robust these doors are. Now imagine that your entire house is made of steel that is as strong as the door… Wouldn't you feel safer in your steel prefab house?
